Mazu Heritage Tour:
妈祖文化之旅
Goddess of the Sea
An ICH Journey Through Singapore's Maritime Past

The Legend of Mazu
Discover the extraordinary world of Mazu (妈祖), the legendary Goddess of the Sea, famed for her supernatural powers from a young age — calming storms, rescuing fishermen, and guiding sailors safely home. After her mysterious disappearance at sea, she was deified by coastal communities who depended on the ocean for survival.
Today, she remains a symbol of protection, resilience, and the enduring bond between people and the sea.

Where the Journey Begins
Begin your journey at Thian Hock Keng Temple, a masterpiece of traditional Hokkien architecture where early seafarers prayed for safe passage. Admire red-and-gold interiors, intricate dragon mosaics, and finely crafted carvings from Fujian artisans.
Then, visit Yueh Hai Ching Temple, Singapore’s oldest Teochew temple, known for its ornate rooftop sculptures and spiritual strength — a cultural anchor for generations of traders and seafarers.

Aboard the Fu Ning
The final destination is the majestic Fu Ning — the world’s largest traditional wooden junk. Docked at Raffles Marina, this floating altar invites visitors to connect with the spirit of Mazu and rediscover the sacred beauty of the sea.
This isn’t just a heritage tour — it’s a journey through myth, migration, and belief.
